It's my goal to do more blogging and less Facebooking. It's about time. Ever since I discovered Facebook and the whole social network thing I pretty much let the blog go. Needless to say I was always the girl passing notes in school (I got good grade ma!), so it's no surprise that I'm caught up in everyones' affairs - including my own.
So, here's to a November new resolution.
Cheers!

Gold and Green Ball
Last night was the Gold and Green Ball at the Stake Center where we celebrated graduation for our Seniors. It was to celebrate them and give them encouragement as they move on. We had a Luau theme, so everyone was dressed up in fun Hawaiian garb. A little later the DJ broke out the tunes, and then OUR DJ broke out the dance moves. I have no idea where Dakota learned some of his dance moves. Greg and I both got a real kick out of it. As soon as Dakota knew the camera was on him, he got even more into character. He loved the attention. It was a FUN night!

2nd Grade End of the Year Field Trip
This year they cut out the funds to use the school buses for field trips, so we had to stay close to home. we made our own 2nd grade fun in nearby backyards. Dakota along with his friends enjoyed lots of fun games, water activities, and got to see a real live up close firetruck and ambulance. It was a good time!

Swimming Lessons in Action
I am so glad Kristalyn told me about winter swimming lessons. What a novel idea. This year we put Dakota in three back-to-back swimming sessions - from level 3 all the way to level 5. He has come A LONG way I tell ya! He is ready now more than ever for 7 Peaks. We can go without fear (hopefully) that he'll know how to swim in any 7 Peaks situation. Yeah!
I was incredibly impressed how hard the instructor made the kids work. They literally had to do lap after lap. Dakota did it though. After the first few attempts and my wanting to dive in to save him, I finally realized he could actually handle it. It strengthened him and gave him confidence that he really could swim.
We'll definitely do it again next year. It was worth every penny!

We have news!
It's been far too long and for that I am not proud. Ever since I discovered Facebook, I have completely dissed our blog. No more!
Our family is doing well - very well actually! We have been picked by a wonderful birth mother, and we are expecting a baby boy in August. We've grown really close to her, and unlike our first adoption, this one will be really open. Everyone always asks us how we feel about that, but you know what? We are just fine with it. We are excited. We love having her over, and we feel completely at peace in our hearts about how this is progressing. I'd post a picture, but I want to respect her privacy. On her end they are keeping it quiet. None of her friends know and few of her family does.
She really is one great girl. She loves the baby more than anything, but she knows she wants him to have a full-time mommy and a daddy. So here we are!
After 8 years, we are starting all over. Help us!
